K-Sure-P4-1 (4-in-1 Solar Pool Monitor):

FAQ

Getting Started

1. Why are there white marks on the probe when I receive the product? Has it been used?

No. The white marks may be crystals from the KCl protective solution applied inside the sealed probe cap to help preserve the probe. The solution can crystallize after overflowing and evaporating. Gently rinse the probe with clean water to remove the crystals. This residue alone does not mean the product has been used.

2. Do I need to calibrate the pH sensor when I first receive the device?

The monitor is calibrated before it leaves the factory and is ready to use when received. If the readings differ from a reliable reference, calibrate the device or manually adjust the values as described in the User Manual.

Installation & Use

1. Can the device be used for long-term monitoring in strongly acidic or alkaline solutions?

No. The device should only be used for single measurements in highly acidic or alkaline solutions. Prolonged exposure may damage the housing or electrodes.

2. What precautions should I take when using the device?

The electrodes are delicate precision components. Handle the probe gently and avoid dropping it or exposing it to rough handling.

Readings & Measurement

1. Why is the CL reading sometimes very different from the test-strip result?

The CL value is calculated using a formula involving both pH and ORP. If the pH is outside the 6.5–8 range, the calculated CL value may be less reliable. Compare results under similar conditions. If you need to confirm the free-chlorine concentration, use a suitable direct testing method.

2. What is the relationship between ORP and CL?

ORP and free chlorine (CL) are related, but they measure different things. Free chlorine is the amount of disinfectant present in the water. ORP reflects the water’s overall oxidation-reduction potential, which is influenced by pH, temperature, and other substances in the water.

Free chlorine and ORP may rise or fall together, but their relationship is not a fixed one-to-one conversion. ORP should not be used as a direct measurement of free-chlorine concentration.

3. Why is the historical data different from the real-time readings?

Historical data is not real-time data. It represents the average value within an hour, so it may differ from the current reading.

Calibration & Maintenance

1. How often should I calibrate the pH sensor?

We recommend calibrating the pH sensor every 3–6 months. If the readings differ from a reliable reference, calibrate the sensor as described in the User Manual.

2. How should I store the device when it is not in use?

Use the provided KCl probe storage solution to thoroughly moisten the sponge inside the sealed probe cap, then place the cap securely on the probe.

Store the device at normal room temperature, between 15°C and 30°C (59°F and 86°F). Do not leave the probe exposed to air or allow it to dry out for extended periods. In winter, keep it indoors in a heated room and protect it from freezing.

Device & Controls

1. What does the battery symbol on the display represent?

The battery symbol indicates the probe’s battery level.

2. How can I charge the device?

The device can be charged using either the solar panel or the magnetic charging cable. During prolonged cloudy periods, we recommend using the magnetic charging cable.
