FAQ
Receiving & First Use
1. Why are there white marks on the probe when I receive the product? Has it been used?
No. The white marks are crystals from the KCl protective solution used inside the sealed protective cap to preserve the probe. The solution is saturated and may crystallize after overflowing and evaporating. Gently rinse the probe with clean water to remove the crystals.
Testing & Measurement
1. How should I position the probe during testing?
Keep the probe vertical to the water surface. This allows air bubbles in the glass bulb to rise and escape.
2. What is the function of the silicone ring on the probe?
The silicone ring marks the maximum immersion level. Do not immerse the probe beyond this mark during testing or calibration.
3. Can I test multiple devices in the same container?
No. Multiple devices in the same container may interfere with one another. Test each device separately.
4. What should I avoid during use?
The glass electrode is fragile. Avoid letting it collide with sharp or hard objects, as this may damage the probe.
5. Why should I gently agitate the probe in the solution?
Before calibration or measurement, gently agitate the probe to release trapped air bubbles from the electrode surface and pH sensing bulb. Air bubbles can cause measurement errors. Avoid vigorous shaking, which may damage the electrode or affect reading stability.
Calibration
1. What pH calibration sequence should I follow?
Use one of the following sequences: 6.86 → 4.00 → 9.18 or 7.00 → 4.00 → 10.01.
2. How do I start calibration correctly?
Place the probe vertically in the calibration solution and gently remove any bubbles. Wait until the reading stabilizes and is close to the calibration point. Press and hold the calibration button for 5 seconds to enter calibration mode. When the screen turns green, press the power button to confirm.
3. Can I start calibration in the air?
No. Starting calibration in the air may cause system errors. Always place the probe in the calibration solution and wait for a stable reading before starting calibration.
Care & Maintenance
1. How should I properly use and maintain the tester?
The sponge inside the protective cap is soaked with potassium chloride (KCl) solution to protect the electrode. Keep the sponge moist. Discoloration over time is normal and does not affect use. If it becomes dry, add a few drops of KCl solution.
Rinse the electrode with pure water before and after measurement. After testing viscous samples, rinse it thoroughly several times to remove residue. The glass bulb at the tip is fragile; avoid contact with hard objects, as scratches or damage may cause the electrode to fail.
