FAQ

Receiving & First Use

1.Why are there white marks on the probe when I receive the product? Has it been used?

No. The white marks are crystals from the KCl protective solution applied inside the sealed protective cap to help preserve the probe. The solution is saturated and can crystallize after overflowing and evaporating. Gently rinse the probe with clean water to remove the crystals. This residue alone does not mean the product has been used.

2.Do I need to calibrate the pH sensor when I receive the the device?

The device is ready to use when you receive it. If the readings differ from a reliable reference, calibrate the device or use the manual value adjustment function as described in the User Manual.

Installation & Use

1.How deep should I place the probe in the water?

During regular use, do not submerge the upper part of the probe. Although the probe is waterproof, immersing it too deeply may expose it to excessive water pressure and shorten the pH probe’s service life.

Connection & Readings

1.What does the “!” symbol on the monitor mean?

The “!” symbol means the display and probe are disconnected. The display cannot receive data from the probe when they are too far apart. Move the display closer to the probe.

2.What is the relationship between the two TDS units, PPT and PPM?

To make readings easier to check, the device switches the TDS unit from PPM to PPT when the reading exceeds 1,000. 1 PPT = 1,000 PPM.

Calibration & Troubleshooting

1.What should I do if the readings are abnormal?

Check the following:
1. Make sure the sealed protective cap has been removed from the probe.
2. Check that the connecting wire is securely tightened.
3. Restore the device to factory settings.
4. Recalibrate the device using calibration solutions.

2.What should I do if the readings do not change when I use different pH buffer solutions during calibration?

Select “Reset” to restore the factory settings, then calibrate the device again.

Probe Care & Storage

1.How should I store the device when it is not in use?

Keep the probe moist during storage. Thoroughly moisten the sponge inside the sealed probe cap with purified water, then securely place the cap on the probe to prevent it from drying out. Avoid leaving the probe exposed to air for extended periods.

Probe Replacement

1.When should the probe be replaced?

The probe may need to be replaced if it has been damaged or its service life has ended. The following conditions can cause damage or inaccurate readings:
1. The upper part of the probe has been submerged.
2. Very dirty water has clogged or damaged the probe.
3. The probe has been left exposed to air for a long time without water or its protective cap.
4. The probe has reached the end of its service life.
5. The probe has been subjected to a strong impact or force.
