1. Is there anything I should be aware of when using the the device?

Do not immerse the tester above the lower edge of the power button, as this may cause water damage. After testing, rinse the probe thoroughly with purified water, gently wipe it dry, and cover it with the protective cap before storage. Avoid exposing the tester to high temperatures or direct sunlight. Store it in a dry place when not in use.

1. How often should the device be calibrated?

Calibration is recommended before first use, after a long period without use, and after testing highly contaminated water, as impurities may stick to the probe. Clean the probe thoroughly before calibration.

2. Why does the tester repeatedly show a calibration failure message?

This may happen if the calibration water is not pure enough. Use mineral-free purified or distilled water for calibration. Make sure the probe is thoroughly cleaned before you try again.

3. Should I use purified water or mineral water for calibration?

Use purified water labeled “purified” or “100% pure,” or use distilled water. Do not use mineral water, such as Evian or Perrier, because its minerals may interfere with calibration.

1. What kind of batteries does the the device use?

The tester requires either two or four AAA batteries. Follow the battery configuration specified for your tester and make sure the batteries are inserted with the correct polarity.

2. How often should I replace the batteries?

With regular use, the two AAA batteries supplied with a new tester typically last 2–3 months. Replace the batteries if the screen becomes dim or the tester does not power on.
